Asia-Pacific markets retreat on Wednesday

Asia-Pacific markets mostly fell after President Trump announced a preliminary trade deal with Indonesia, including a 19 per cent tariff on Indonesian exports to the US.
South Korea's Kospi dropped by 0.9 per cent to finish the trading day at 3,186.38, while the small-cap Kosdaq remained unchanged at 812.23.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 fell by 0.79 per cent to end at 8,561.8. Japan's Nikkei 225 closed at 39,663.4, and the Topix decreased by 0.21 per cent to 2,819.4.
Mainland China's CSI 300 finished the day 0.3 per cent lower at 4,007.20.
