Asia-Pacific markets had a mixed trading day on Monday, with bitcoin reaching a new high and investors analysing the effects of President Trump's 30 per cent tariffs on the EU and Mexico. The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong increased by 0.26 per cent to close at 24,203.32, while the CSI 300 index in mainland China remained unchanged at 4,017.67. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 benchmark decreased by 0.28 per cent to close at 39,459.62, and the Topix index stayed flat at 2,822.81. South Korea's Kospi index rose by 0.83 per cent to close at 3,202.03, while the Kosdaq small-cap index fell by 0.14 per cent to 799.37. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 benchmark ended the day 0.11 per cent lower at 8,570.4.
