Asia-Pacific markets had a mixed trading day on Thursday, with investors analysing the Bank of Korea's decision to maintain interest rates and President Donald Trump's announcement of a 50 per cent tariff on Brazilian imports as of August 1st. Japan's Nikkei 225 index fell by 0.44 per cent to finish at 39,646.36, while the Topix index dropped by 0.56 per cent to close at 2,812.34. South Korea's Kospi index increased by 1.58 per cent to 3,183.23, and the Kosdaq index rose by 0.93 per cent to 797.7. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index declined by 0.59 per cent to 8,589.2.
