Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty on Thursday received a phone call from British Foreign Secretary David Lammy to discuss developments in the Middle East, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip. Abdel-Aty highlighted Egypt's ongoing efforts to restore the ceasefire agreement and initiate the second phase of its implementation. He stressed the need to halt the current Israeli escalation and underlined the importance of collective action to contain the conflict and prevent its expansion, given the severe implications for the region's populations. The two ministers also discussed the situation in Sudan. Abdel-Aty reaffirmed Egypt's support for Sudan's security, stability, national institutions, and territorial integrity.
