After succeeding in reaching the headquarters of the new embassy, a delegation of political activists gave a bouquet of roses to the Venezuelan ambassador in Cairo in recognition of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's stance on the Palestinian cause and his decision to expel the Israeli ambassador from his country. "We are grateful for Hugo Chavez's stance on the situation in Gaza and we have come to the Venezuelan Embassy in Cairo to thank him," Kefaya [Enough) Movement former coordinator George Ishaq said, calling on all world countries to follow the example of Venezuela in dealing with the issue.
The delegation sent a letter of appreciation to the Venezuelan president for his decision to expel the Israeli Ambassador. Chavez's decision is a real expression of solidarity with the persecuted and the strugglers for freedom as well as a slap in the face of Arab rulers who pretend they can not stop this massacre, the letter says. For his part, the head of the Euro Afro-Asian association Nagy Aboul Naga said: "Arab rulers have denied their people their basic right to express themselves, so they have become unable to be free. Arab rulers' hands tremble with fear and they have lost their chivalry because they have become slaves of the US and Israel."
The Venezuelan ambassador in Cairo said a Venezuelan aircraft would arrive at Arish airport soon carrying the first batch of medical aid from the Venezuelan people to the Palestinians.
He added that his country left no stone unturned to save Gaza, including expelling the Israeli ambassador and addressing the United Nations to stop the massacres committed by Israel in Gaza.
