Two new bird flu human infections were confirmed on Wednesday evening of two boys in Dakahlia and Sohag. Dr. Abdel Rahman Shahin, the Health Ministry spokesman, said case no. 73 is a boy called Abdel Rahman Sabri Mohamed, 4, from the Moussa Shokri Village in Sherbin, Dakahlia. Symptoms of high fever and a running nose were evident on May 18 after he was exposed to birds suspected of being infected with bird flu. He was taken to Mansoura Chest Hospital, where his condition has stabilized after he was given Tamiflu in preparation for moving him to Mansheyet Al-Bakri Hospital. The spokesman also said that case no. 74 is another boy called Sameh Ayoub Shohdy, 3, from Rawafie Al-Qusseir in Sohag. Symptoms of high fever and a running nose were evident on May 17 after he was exposed to birds suspected of being infected with bird flu. The next day he was taken to Sohag Fever Hospital, where his condition has stabilized after he was given Tamiflu in preparation for moving him to Mansheyet Al-Bakri Hospital. Meanwhile, there have been no more suspected cases of swine flu than the 82 cases that were all negative.
