12 suspected cases of "Birds Flu" were detained, yesterday, in the two fever-treatment hospitals in Al Dakahlia and Qena. Cases showed indications similar to Birds Flu's. A two and half year old child, Al Said Sami Al Said Al Hosary and his five-year brother Mohamed from El Mokadem Hamlet were detained yesterday in the thorax hospital in AL Mansoura governorate. In addition to that, in the city of Meet Ghamre, a 30-year old man Mohamed Fekri Mahmoud was detained, a one and a half year old child Mazen Zaki Mohamed and a nine month old child El Said Mohamed El Said. At the same time, the two-year old Mohamed El Said El Mashad from the village of Bosat Kareem and Abed El Aziz Mohamed Abed El Aziz from Kofour Al Arab village, Talkha division were also detained. All of them have had blood tests taken to see whether they have the disease or not. Doctors in the hospital said that 28 other cases were permitted to leave hospital yesterday, having shown negative results. In Al Gharbia, the two hospitals of fever-treatment in both Tanta and Al Mohala divisions detained 12 Birds-flu-newly-suspected cases, among them, was a child of only eight months. Some of the first signs of the disease are increase in body temperature with dyspnea and aches and pains in the bones. Samples of blood have been taken and sent to the central laboratories in the Ministry of Public Health to decide the extent of which cases have the disease or not. Patients were given the drug "Tamiflo" as well as being kept isolated in rooms especially prepared for such cases. This was reported by the head manager of Preventive Medicine Administration inside the Al Gharbia Health Office, Dr. Esam Osman. In Qena, 45-year Said Hassan Ismail from Abnod Hamlet, Kaft division was detained inside the fever-treatment hospital of Qena and with him, his sons, Abd El Rahman who is twenty and Ahmed who is eight, along with his daughters, Reem 22 and Samer 10. It was reported that they had been keeping birds inside their house. In the south of Sinai, the Veterinary Office has removed 67 tin plate chests for raising poultry in the area of Al Rowayat in Sharm El Sheikh, getting rid of 163 birds. Dr. Sami Abd El Hameed, the head manager of the Veterinary Medicine in the south of Sinai, said that all vets of the governorate have been trained on the fast injection test to discover the disease inside the veterinary units without any need to send samples to the central laboratory in Cairo. In Damietta, the high committee for the prevention of Birds Flu has organized several campaigns in the cities of Kafr Saad, Faraskour, Ezbet Al Borg and Ras El Bar. This resulted in catching 2,237 birds and removing 57 in-house tin plate chests for raising poultry.
