Parliamentary delegation to Al-Azhar: We reject amendments that compromise Al-Azhar's full independence

Cairo – On Wednesday May 10, Al-Azhar's Grand Imam, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb, received a high-level parliamentary delegation at the headquarters of the Al-Azhar Institute, located in downtown Cairo.
Al-Tayeb cordially welcomed the delegation members into Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, stressing that the practices of the Egyptian parliament has displayed a distinguished, global example in laying the foundations of a healthy parliamentary atmosphere.
He also expressed Al-Azhar's appreciation of and full support to the efforts exerted by parliament speaker and members in fulfilling their national duty towards Egypt.
