Bani Yas's Zidan reacts over ‘fake' injury fine The Egyptian forward said he felt pains so he didn't show up in Bani Yas day 15 match while club scans proved that he had no reason of absence
Bani Yas striker Mohamed Zidan defended himself after being punished as medical scans showed he had no reason to back out of the match with Ittihad Kalba in day 15 of the UAE league. “I had knee pains. This is not something you can discover by scans. I felt pains one day before the match so I told the technical staff.” Egypt forward told Emariti newspaper Al-Bayan Wednesday. The 30-year-old player, who was fined by his club after his “claimed injury proved to be false”, also insisted that his relationship with teammates is ok. “Some say that I treat my teammates with arrogance. This is totally untrue,” Zidan said adding “Iam engaged with the Emirati club and I am not willing to leave.” Zidan joined the Bani Yas in summer after spending 12 years in Europe playing for Borussia Dortmund and Mainz in the Bundesliga.
