Egypt forward Mohamed Zidan says he was not driven by money when he sealed his move to Emirate side Bani Yas. Zidan, 30, joined the Gulf outfit on a free transfer after finishing a six-month loan spell at Bundesliga club Mainz, a deal that saw him end an eight-year stint in Europe. The value of his reported wage is in the region $2million per season, a fee the Egypt international strenuously denies. “What is being rumored in the media regarding figures of my deal is totally baseless," Zidan told reporters after wrapping up his two-year deal. “I did not move to UAE for money as my target is to help Bani Yas to the winning podium. “I'm keen on making the most of the football experience I gained at Mainz, Hamburg, Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund at Bani Yas." Bani Yas finished last season in ninth place of the 12-team UAE First League.
