Egypt's Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al Mashat held a meeting on Wednesday with Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang. The meeting, held on the sidelines of Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong's visit to Cairo, focused on preparations for the 6th meeting of the Vietnam–Egypt Joint Committee and emphasised the significance of agreements reached during the current presidential visit. Both sides highlighted plans to establish subcommittees in key areas of mutual interest, aimed at leveraging existing potential and expanding cooperation. Al Mashat and the Vietnamese officials discussed the importance of holding a business forum and specialised workshops during the next joint committee meeting. These events would facilitate knowledge exchange in areas such as economic development strategies, foreign investment promotion, aquaculture, entrepreneurship, green development, and development finance. Discussions further addressed cooperation in renewable energy and technical expertise sharing, with the Egyptian minister outlining ongoing reforms to improve the business climate and investment environment.
