CAIRO: Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri said he will begin his duties from the Interior Ministry to check on the country's security situation and the ministry's requirements. He also said in a statement to state TV that no action can be performed without the security's existence, expecting security to return to Egyptian streets to confront criminals and outlaws. Ganzouri said he will only use the law when it comes to the fight against crime, adding that violence, verbal or physical, will not be used against protesters and no tear gas will be shot. He said he treats protesters outside the Council of Ministries like a father with children and grandchildren, rather than a prime minister. He added that he will launch negotiations with all the political powers soon. Demands must be reasonable and not seek the dismissal of the institution as this will leave the state in chaos, said the prime minister, adding that no sit-in could be staged outside the Council of Ministries in any country worldwide. You cannot find a sit-in outside the White House in the U.S. or something similar in England, said Ganzouri.
