JERUSALEM: The Israeli government is warning its citizens of approaching the Egyptian—Israeli border in the Israeli Red Sea town of Eilat, reported Yedioth Aharanot. The Israeli Ministry of Education canceled all school trips to Eilat after the announcement was made. The Israeli army will stage military exercises along the Israeli-Egyptian border to prepare for any possible attacks with Egypt, the paper reported. The Egyptian policies are now unclear with big wins by Islamists in the recent elections. The army is also taking threats from Iran, Syria and Lebanon seriously, the paper wrote. The army will also stage exercises in al-Majdal of Asqalan in northern Israel. The Israeli army has been practicing maneuvers in Upper Galilee and Kiryay Shmona near the Lebanese border. In addition, the army is scheduled to perform “black clouds” next month in Haifa. The operation is a mock atomic disaster evacuation.
