The Israeli government decided to prevent Israeli tourists from entering Egypt, particularly to touristic areas in Sinai. They claim it is dangerous to spend their Jewish holidays in Sinai since they expect terrorist attacks in Egypt. Many Israeli tourists spend their holidays in Sinai. Israeli newspapers Jerusalem Post Haaretz, Yedioth Ahronoth and Israel's national channel two reported the Israeli government ordered army forces to prevent tourists from going to Sinai even if they must use force to prevent any entry. It is the second time since 1982, Israelis are not allowed to enter Egypt since Israeli authorities prevented them from entering Taba, Sharm el-Sheikh and Dahab. Israeli security systems ordered Taba Airport authorities to prevent Israeli tourists from entering Taba or Sinai. Israeli army forces told tourists to spend their holidays in Eilat since it may be dangerous in Egypt. Israel media said Israel did not close off Taba crossing border between Israel and Egypt since 1982. The Taba crossing border was open 24 hours. Israeli authorities only closed it after the Sharm el-Sheikh explosions in 2004. Israeli army spokesman said they will continue full alert and spreading forces on Egyptian-Israeli borders because they expect armed attacks.
