Israel decided to freeze transfer of hundreds of million Shekels, which Israel provides to the Palestinian Authority. Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth mentioned this decision was made during the meeting of the Israeli Ministerial forum, which discussed repercussions of UNESCO's decision to give Palestine membership as an independent state. The newspaper was informed the decision will remain activated until another discussion, ensuring discussions about the decision didn't end yet. Israel will hinder and freeze money transfer according to what was recommended by Israeli Minister of Financial Yuval Steinitz. Yedioth pointed out the Defense Minister Ehud Barak rejects this decision and is trying to transfer money to Palestinian security authorities in the West Bank. “If Israel decided not to transfer money to Palestinian Authorities, this will be an irrational decision because Israel doesn't have any right with this money,” Israeli political sources said. “Tel-Aviv is not convinced with this decision to be applied.”
