CAIRO: Teachers representing the Muslim Brotherhood today escalated their demonstration in front of their Syndicate in Cairo by cutting off access to the Qasr al-Nil Bridge twice and snarling traffic. “The teachers took this step because the government has not handed over the Syndicate committees to the winners of the election, which was held over a month ago,” said Ashraf al-Gamal, the spokesman of the Muslim Brotherhood teachers. “The insistence of the Syndicate Council on undermining the democratically elected winners will lead to further escalation,” al-Gamal said. Security forces attempted to convince the demonstrators to open traffic flow, arguing that they understand the legal demands raised by the Brotherhood teachers.
