Pope Shenouda III, head of Egypt's Coptic Christian Community, met Dr Refaat Said, head of Egypt's al-Tagammu Party. The two discussed the future of Egypt in the framework of the upcoming parliamentary elections, the controversy surrounding the election law, and political parties' strategy. The Pope wished Egypt to be stable and to achieve rule of law, in order for all Egyptians to reach their own aspirations. After the visit, Said refused to reveal his reasons for meeting the Pope for the second time in two months, saying it comes in the framework of a 40-year relationship with the Pope.
