Pope Shenouda meets wtih head of leftist party Coptic patriarch and head of the Tagammu party start to stress the importance each has to play in the political future of Egypt
Pope Shenouda III, patriarch of the Coptic Church, met today with the head of the leftist Tagammu Party, Refaat El Said, to discuss Egypt's political future. During the meeting, they also discussed the future of political parties in Egypt. El-Said stressed the important role of religious institutions in spreading the culture of dialogue and moderate religious discourse in Egypt. Pope Shenouda also expressed his wish that the Tagammu Party plays a bigger role in the political arena in light of the changes that took place in the country after the January 25 revolution.
