Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib met with Japan's Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Kato Akiyoshi to enhance economic and trade ties, the ministry announced. The meeting, which coincided with Egypt's National Day celebrations at Expo 2025 Osaka, provided a timely platform to deepen cooperation and expand investment partnerships, the Japanese side said, according to an Egyptian report. El-Khatib highlighted priority areas for collaboration, emphasising the mutual interest in boosting productive investments and technology transfer to support sustainable development and regional value chain integration. Kato Akiyoshi called for continued Egyptian government efforts to improve the business climate and remove obstacles facing investors to facilitate the growth and expansion plans of Japanese firms in the Egyptian market.
