Talaat Sadat, former parliamentarian and nephew of late Egyptian president Anwar Sadat, today filed papers with the parties' affairs committee to officially establish “National Egypt,” a new political party. The party had previously unfulfilled legal requirements regarding the number of members in the party. A popular conference will be held to announce the party's platform and strategy once the party is officially announced, Sadat told Youm7. The problems of minority citizens will top the list of party priorities, Sadat said, as he is inspired by the soul of his late uncle and former Egyptian president. Tawfik Okasha, owner of Pharoah's Channel, participated in the founding of the new political party. Sadat announced his commitment to form a new party – designed to solve problems all Egyptians suffer from – on a visit to his uncle's tomb last May.
