Egypt forward Mohamed Salah is one of three players nominated for Africa's Most Promising Talent of the Year Award. CAF announced a shortlist of nominees for the annual gong on Tuesday, with Basel starlet Salah facing competition from Victor Wanyama and Pape Moussa Konate. Kenya midfielder Wanyama plays for Scottish champions Celtic, while Senegal striker Konate – the youngest of the trio – plies his trade in Russia with Krasondar. Salah has been in impressive form in his first season in Europe, even though Swiss champions Basel are far from consistent in the Swiss Super League so far. The 20-year-old also caught the eye with Egypt at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, scoring three goals in four games, while Senegal's Konate netted five. Egypt goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Shennawi was nominated for the award last year, but lost the prize to Tottenham and Ivory Coast youngster Souleymane Coulibaly.
