Ahli playmaker Abdullah Al-Saied has picked up a ‘rare' thigh injury ahead of the Club World Cup in Japan. The Reds said on their website that Al-Saied felt a strain in his thigh, a problem that forced him to quit Sunday's training session. However, Ahli doctor Ihab Ali allayed fears of a serious injury even though he conceded that the injury is a rare one. “Abdullah Al-Saied is suffering from fatigue in his thigh," Ali told the club's official website. “It's a rare injury but it's not serious at all. The extent of the injury will be determined ahead of tomorrow's training session." Al-Saied, who joined from Ismaili in the summer of 2011, remained out of action for several weeks with a thigh injury at the start of his tenure with the Cairo giants. It remains to be seen whether he will make the trip to Japan as Ahli will face the winner of the game between Japanese league champions Hiroshima Sanfrecce and Oceania champions Auckland on December 9.
