Egypt number one Essam Al-Hadari suffered a minor facial injury as Merreikh's bus was stoned by fans of Sudanese rivals Ahli Shandi in a continental match. The 39-year-old Al-Hadari said on his personal website that he suffered a cut in his lip following his side's 2-0 victory on Friday. The win, courtesy of two goals by Kelechi Osunwa and Ahmed El-Basha, put Merreikh on top of Group A with seven points from three games. The Sudanese champions are three points clear of bitter Khartoum rivals Hilal, who face Interclube of Angola on Saturday.
