Egypt keeper Essam Al-Hadari saved four penalties and scored two to inspire Merreikh to the Cecafa Cup semi-finals with a 9-8 shootout victory over Kenya's Ulinzi Stars. The thrilling match ended in a 1-1 draw after Jonas Sakuwaha's 86th minute goal strike for Merreikh was cancelled out by George Otieno in injury time. Al-Hadari was the hero for Merreikh as he denied Ulinzi four times as well as scoring twice from the spot, including the decisive penalty that won the game for the Sudanese giants. The veteran keeper said last week that he will quit Merreikh after the regional competition. Merreikh, managed by Egyptian Hossam Al-Badri, will face Tanzania's Simba Sports in the semi-finals. The Khartoum club are currently in charge of the Sudanese league table, three points ahead of arch-rivals Hilal.
