Egypt's Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir met with Saudi officials on Thursday to advance bilateral cooperation across trade, investment, and industrial sectors, the Egyptian ministries of Industry and Transport said. El-Wazir, who also serves as Egypt's Secretary-General of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, met with his Saudi counterpart Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri to discuss activating the council's work and enhancing strategic partnerships. The meetings came amid a broader push to implement the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council, established during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's visit to Cairo in October 2024, aimed at deepening economic and industrial collaboration between the two countries. During his visit, El-Wazir also held talks with Saudi Transport and Logistics Minister Saleh Al-Jasser, and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef to explore joint industrial projects and integrated supply chain initiatives. El-Wazir highlighted Egypt's reforms, investment incentives, and the recently enacted Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement, designed to boost Saudi investment in Egypt. He noted growing participation of Egyptian companies in Saudi markets and vice versa, reflecting private sector confidence in the bilateral partnership. The meetings underscored the two countries' shared strategic vision, with officials emphasising collaboration as a means to strengthen regional security, economic integration, and long-term growth.
