Ahli deny Abdul-Shafi approach

Ahli have categorically denied making overtures for Zamalek and Egypt left-back Mohamed Abdul-Shafi, according to marketing manager Magdi Tolba.
The Reds have been reportedly linked with Abdul-Shafi who is believed to be unsettled of late after skipping several training sessions without the management's consent in protest over late dues.
He was accordingly dropped from the Whites squad for the last two Champions League defeats to Mazembe as his future with his club is now hanging in the balance.
“We didn't contact Abdul-Shafi to discuss any potential deals," Tolba told FilGoal.com.
“I'm astonished by what is being rumored in the media; it's a totally baseless issue."
Abdul-Shafi, 27, has been one of the most consistent performers in Zamalek's roster during recent years as he played a role in Egypt's 2010 Africa Cup of Nations triumph.
Ahli boast Egypt international Sayed Moawad and Ahmed Shedid as left-backs among their ranks.
