Ahli skipper Hossam Ghaly says he is ready to accept any punishment imposed by the management even if he lost the captaincy armband in the wake of a rift with his boss Manuel Jose. Recent reports indicated that Jose was pondering stripping the 30-year-old of the captaincy following a training-ground row that resulted in Ghaly's omission from last week's Champions League fixture at Stade Malien. Ghaly, who has been a key figure in Ahli's squad over the past two seasons, was reportedly not ready to accept such a sanction, but the Egypt midfielder was quick to show his full commitment. “No one talked with me about the captaincy armband and even if the management decided to take the armband away from me, I am ready to accept to the decision,” the former Tottenham man told reporters on Sunday. “I hope the media does not exaggerate my problem with Jose; it is not that serious. “My participation in the return game against Stade Malien is in the hands of the management, I will not be unhappy if they ruled me out of the match.” Ahli, who were defeated 1-0 in the first-leg at Stade, take on the Malian champions in Cairo on May 14.
