Ahli football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz revealed that skipper Hossam Ghaly is set to be granted reprieve by manager Manuel Jose following the recent rift that saw the midfielder dropped from the first team. Ghaly was omitted from last week's Champions League game at Stade Malien, amid speculation of a training-ground row with his manager. Despite playing down the incident at the time, Ghaly admitted a ‘disagreement' with his boss, while reports that Jose is pondering stripping the 30-year-old of the captaincy armband suggested that the problem is much serious. “During our long stay in Mali, we spoke to Jose about forgiving Ghaly and I think we succeeded,” Abdul-Hafiz told FilGoal.com. “What happened was not a big issue anyway but I think now we managed to clear the air to avoid any drastic consequences.” Recent reports also suggested that Ghaly, who is a key player in Jose's team, is not ready to accept his manager's decision in case he was stripped of the captaincy. It remains to be seen whether the Egypt international will be back for the return game with Stade Malien later this month as Ahli have already lost star defender Wael Gomaa due to injury.
