ENPPI intend to request changing the venue of their upcoming Confederation Cup fixture at Mali's Cercle Olympique Bamako after the Ahli contingent had been stranded in the strife-torn country. Ahli, who lost 1-0 at Stade Malien in the Champions league on Sunday, have been stuck in their hotel in the capital city of Bamako as a counter-coup attempt has been taking place this week. The Reds' ordeal prompted Cairo neighbors ENPPI to ponder calling on CAF to have their round of 16 return leg staged elsewhere. “It is illogical to play in Mali amid these turbulent conditions, especially after what Ahli have been subjected to there,” ENPPI chairman Mohamed Badr told FilGoal.com. “I will propose to the Malian side staging the game in Cairo, while burdening all the expenses of the team's trip. “We are also ready to hold the match behind closed doors or even allow the opponent's fans to attend the game here in Egypt should they consent the idea in the first place.” ENPPI defeated Cercle Bamako 3-1 in the first leg few days ago as the return leg takes place on May 12.
