Ahli football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz admitted that the Reds' management is cautious over holding any friendly games in fear of another injury to their depleted squad. Ahli prepare to take on Ethiopian Coffee in the Champions League next week, amid a host of injury problems to the likes of Wael Gomaa, Abdullah Al-Saied and Emad Meteb. “We need friendly games to prepare for the Coffee match, yet we cannot afford to lose another player to injury,” Abdul-Hafiz told FilGoal.com. “There are 23 registered players in our Champions League roster and there are currently five injured, so if another player gets injured, we could enter the game with an incomplete squad.” In addition to Gomaa, Al-Saied and Meteb, Ahli are set to miss full-back Sayed Moawad, while key midfielder Hossam Ashour is a major doubt for next week's clash. Striker Dominique da Silva is struggling with fitness problems, but Geddo should be back from a hamstring injury.
