A handful of Ahli players are facing a race against time to be fit for this month's Champions League encounter with Ethiopian Coffee. The Reds have been hit by a number of injuries recently, in what was suggested by many as a consequence to the low morale that was followed by the Port-Said disaster. Emad Meteb, Wael Gomaa, Abdullah Al-Saied, Sherif Abdul-Fadil and Dominique da Silva have all been at the treatment room as Mohamed Barakat and Geddo joined the list this week. “We are trying to contain Barakat's minor injury, Abdul-Fadil will have a scan on his calf and Geddo is treating a strained hamstring,” Ahli doctor Ihab Ali told FilGoal.com. “Gomaa, Al-Saied and Dominique could be fit for the Coffee game and Meteb will hopefully resume full training this week. Full-back Ahmed Shedid has also been ruled out for two weeks and is unlikely to be fit for the continental game on March 23.
