Egypt will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of North African neighbors Morocco and Algeria when they kickoff their CAF U-23 Championship campaign against Gabon on Sunday. Hosts Morocco edged out Nigeria 1-0 in Group A of the Olympic Games qualifiers, thanks to a penalty from AbdelAziz Barrada. Algeria registered the same scoreline against Senegal, courtesy of a Mehdi Benaldjia strike. Egypt take on Gabon in Marrakech in relatively their easiest task of the campaign, with Ivory Coast and South Africa clashing in the other group game. The top two teams of each group qualify for the semis, with finalists going through to the London finals, followed by the winner of the third-place playoff.
