Zamalek striker Amr Zaki vowed to gradually improve his level of performance, in the wake of his return from a long-standing injury. The Bulldozer spent quite some time on the sidelines this season due to a troublesome knee before making his comeback in the 2-1 league loss at Gouna on May 10. Former Wigan Athletic striker Zaki replaced Mohamed Ibrahim five minutes past the hour mark but his performance was far from influential. The 28-year-old produced a better display against Smouha in the next game, having created the first goal in Zamalek's 3-0 win although he came on as a substitute late on 70 minutes. "I don't want to rush myself to hit peak form especially that I have returned from a serious injury," Zaki said. "But I promise the fans that my level of performance will get better a game after another." League leaders Zamalek take on Arab Contractors Saturday in their upcoming game in the domestic competition.
