Amr Zaki believes that it is time for Egypt manager Hassan Shehata to step down for his own sake, amid the African champions' misfiring in the CAN 2012 qualifiers. Shehata, who guided Egypt to three straight African titles, found his team bottom of Group 7 with a single point from three games and a substantial probability of missing out on the finals for the first time. A 1-0 defeat in South Africa added more pressure on the Master as Egypt are left with no option but to win all their remaining three games. “I give coach Shehata this advice as a son,” Zaki, who missed the South Africa due to injury, told FilGoal.com. “He could face severe criticism in the upcoming period; something that he may not bear. “After all what he had achieved, Shehata cannot be criticized as a coach. I respect him and I think that his son Karim has the same opinion as me.” Shehata's son Karim, a media presenter, said on Saturday that it would be better for his father to step down after the Bafana defat.
