Military Production became the second Premier League team to bow out of the Egyptian Cup after losing to third-tier Bani Suef in the round of 32 on Thursday. Bani Suef caused a huge upset after eliminating Production, who lie seventh in the league, 5-4 on penalties following a goalless match. Goalkeeper Adel Bakri blocked two penalties to hand Bani Suef a remarkable win. Fellow Premier League club MCDR were knocked out on Wednesday at the hands of second-division side Nassr. In-form ENPPI booked a last-16 berth after claiming a last-gasp 2-1 victory over Rabat, thanks to a penalty from Mohamed Ragab one minute from time. They are expected to face Cairo giants Ahli, who play lower division side Kima Aswan, in the next round. A brace from Marwan Mohsen gave Petrojet a 3-1 victory over Tanta while Arab Contractors and Gouna went through at the expense of Suez and Damanhur respectively. Zamalek will be hoping to avoid the embarrassment of 2008 when they take on second-tier Bani Obeid on Friday. Bani Obeid ousted the White Knights with a stunning 1-0 win in the same stage two years ago. Harras Hodoud won the last edition of the cup when they defeated Ahli on penalty shootout.
