Didier Drogba scored twice as Chelsea secured a 2-0 home victory over Arsenal on Sunday to regain their position on top of the Premier League table. The Ivorian marksman opened the scoring after eight minutes when he applied the finishing touch to a flick by John Terry at the far post. He doubled Chelsea's advantage on 23 minutes after rounding off a counter attack in superb fashion, cutting inside from the right and firing a powerful shot past Arsenal keeper Manuel Almunia. Drogba could have completed his hat-trick late in the game but was unlucky to see his free-kick strike the bar. Chelsea returned to the top with 58 points, two ahead of second-placed Manchester United. Arsenal's title hopes have all but vanished as they trail North London rivals Chelsea by nine points.
