France captain Thierry Henry admitted that the goal that secured Les Bleus' 2010 World Cup spot was dubious. France salvaged a 1-1 home draw with Ireland on Wednesday to go through with a 2-1 aggregate victory, thanks to a William Gallas strike. Gallas headed home after former Arsenal mate Henry set him up with a deft cross, but the latter had clearly handled the ball near the goal line. "Yes, there is a handball but I am not the referee," the Barcelona forward said after the game . "I didn't deliberately do it , but it was a handball. "I'm in the box, there are two defenders in front of me. The ball bounced off my hand, the referee did not see it and I played on. "It doesn't change anything to the fact that I'm happy we have qualified."
