Uruguay have completed the list of 32 teams qualifying for the 2010 World Cup with a 2-1 aggregate victory over Costa Rica in the South America/CONCACAF playoff. The South Americans drew 1-1 in Montevideo on Wednesday after Sebastian Abreu's strike was cancelled out by Walter Centeno. Elsewhere, four teams from Europe booked their places in South Africa with marginal aggregate wins. France needed extra time to draw 1-1 with Ireland in Paris, thanks to a dubious goal by William Gallas. The 2006 World Cup finalists won 2-1 on aggregate. In Maribor, Slovenia stunned Guus Hiddink's Russia with a goal from Zlatko Dedic to go through on the away-goal rule, following Saturday's 2-1 defeat. Greece beat Ukraine 1-0 at home to win the playoff after Saturday's goalless draw. Raul Mereiles scored the only goal for Portugal over Bosnia to ensure the former's 1-0 first-leg win. Algeria joined Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria after edging Egypt 1-0 in the African playoff.
