Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher believes that Cristiano Ronaldo's departure negatively affected the Red Devils, in terms of performances and results. Portuguese wizard Ronaldo joined Real Madrid from Old Trafford for a record-breaking fee of £80 million last summer. United, who now lie in the Premiership table second spot with 25 points, are yet to fill the void left by the talented winger's move, Fletcher believes. "The players all knew we were losing a massive player, leaving a big gap in how and where we got our goals," he told Inside United magazine. "But we knew other players would have to rise to the challenge – we needed everyone to raise their games. "There were times when we expected Ronaldo to come up with the goods, whereas now everyone knows we need to produce, individually or collectively. "We're a different team now, with a different style. "Ronaldo was brilliant for us as much as we were brilliant for him, but now we have a new style, new players, and we find the best way to win a match as a team."
