Ahli star Mohamed Barakat is set to make his comeback from injury and could take part of next week's league clash with Police Union. Ahli's official site said that the 32-year-old joined his teammates in training on Wednesday and impressed in a practice match. Barakat has been struggling with a hernia problem since the end of last season, which forced him to miss Egypt's qualifiers against Algeria and Rwanda. Meanwhile, injured strikers Francis Doe, Ahmed Belal and Mohamed Fadl are still working on rehab with the team's physio. Belal and Doe have hamstring injuries, while new signing Fadl is struggling with a nagging thigh problem. Ahli play Military Production in a friendly on Thursday, before resuming their league campaign against Police on August 19th.
