Ahli midfielder Mohamed Barakat could make his long-awaited return from injury when the Red Devils face Police Union in the Egyptian Premier League on August 19th. "Barakat has fully recovered from his pelvic injury," Ahli doctor Ihab Ali said on the club's official website on Saturday. "He will return to training on Sunday. He is likely to be fit for Ahli's game against Police." The versatile Barakat, 32, has been sidelined since the end of last season. He missed Ahli's 2-0 victory over Ghazl Mahalla in their Egyptian Premier League opener on Thursday. In his absence, Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri fielded two attacking midfielders in Mohamed Abou-Treika and Ahmed Hassan to support lone striker Francis Doe. Barakat is likely to play alongside Abou-Treika instead of Hassan when the Egyptian champions meet Police in their second league game.
