Bayern Munich GM Uli Hoeness stated that the Bundesliga giants are awaiting Chelsea's response regarding Portuguese full-back Jose Bosingwa. Bayern were interested in Bosingwa since the start of this summer and are still keen to acquire his services, only a few days before the Premier League's start. It seems that coach Louis van Gaal is looking to use the former Porto winger as a defensive cover for key man Franck Ribery. "We are still interested in Jose," Hoeness told the Daily Mail. "We need a strong, experienced defender on the right side, especially if we use Ribery in a more offensive role, as is being considered. "We want only Bosingwa and have no interest in any other player for this position. "Chelsea agreed to give us a signal after the Community Shield that they were ready to talk and we are waiting for contact from them." Bosingwa has been a key member for Chelsea under managers Luiz Felipe Scolari and Guus Hiddink last term, following a £16million move from Porto. However, new boss Carlo Ancelotti started with Branislav Ivanovic on the right as Chelsea beat Manchester United on Sunday.
