Arsenal suffered their fifth Premier League defeat after losing 3-0 to Manchester City on Saturday. Stephen Ireland opened the scoring just before the break when he capitalized on a defensive mix-up to fire home from close range. Brazilian winger Robinho doubled City's lead 11 minutes after the restart. He latched onto Shaun Wright-Phillips's defense-splitting pass to go clear on goal before lofting a superb chip over Manuel Almunia. Daniel Sturridge put the icing on the cake when he converted a last-minute penalty after being fouled by Johan Djourou. The Gunners, who were handed a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa last week, are already reeling from their off-field problems. French defender William Gallas has been stripped of Arsenal's captaincy after criticizing his teammates. Arsenal are fourth in the league table with 23 points, ten adrift of joint leaders Liverpool and Chelsea. Liverpool and Chelsea were both held to goalless draws by Fulham and Newcastle United respectively. Watch City goals:
