Van Persie's double sinks Newcastle

Arsenal secured their second successive win in the Premiership after Robin van Persie's brace gave them a 3-0 victory over Newcastle on Saturday.
The Dutch striker opened the scoring in the 18th minute when he converted a penalty after Charles N'Zogbia handled an Emmanuel Adebayor cross.
Van Persie doubled Arsenal's advantage four minutes before the break, firing home from close range after connecting with Emmanuel Eboue's clever back-heel.
But he couldn't play the full 90 minutes after sustaining a foot injury in the second half. He was replaced by youngster Carlos Vela in the 63rd minute.
Denilson wrapped up Arsenal's victory with a precise close-range shot after Samir Nasri and Emmanuel Adebayor combined to set him up.
Arsenal are temporarily second in the league table with six points, just like Chelsea, who could extend their lead to three points if they beat Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
