Wigan chairman Dave Whelan admitted that the Latics could be kicked out of the Premier League if fans did not show support to the team. Whelan was frustrated by the lack of support in Wigan's 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea last weekend as he highlighted the significance of fans' role in keeping the team in the top flight. "When you play Chelsea and we only have 15,000 of our own there you have to ask 'Does Wigan deserve a football team?" he told the Mirror. "If people don't come they will lose a Premier League team. It's so disappointing. "We have built this club up bit by bit from the old Fourth Division." Amr Zaki's side will visit newly-promoted Hull City on Saturday, in an attempt to pop out of the bottom of the Premiership table.
