Hossam Ghaly revealed on Thursday that he is close to joining Premiership bottom side Derby County on a six-month loan deal, but stressed that the deal is yet to be finalized. "Derby opened talks with me five days ago. My agent is negotiating with the club officials to reach a final agreement," the Egyptian midfielder told FilGoal.com. "Although Derby are struggling in the Premiership, it will be a good chance for me to play on a regular basis and prove my worth before joining a bigger club. "It will be a loan deal because I fear Derby may fail to secure league safety this season." Ghaly has been targeting a move away from Tottenham since falling out with manager Martin Jol following his angry reaction at being substituted in a Premiership game last season. He was close to securing a move to Birmingham in the close season but the deal fell through after the controversial midfielder questioned his new teammates' capabilities. It seems now the 26-year-old has several options to consider before departing White Hart Lane "My agent told me there are two other clubs interested in my services. In case one of these clubs table an official bid, I will consider it before choosing the best option," he concluded.
