Zamalek assistant coach Ayman Mansour believes the behavior of his side's fans during the 3-0 Egyptian League victory over Tersana was justified. The Cairo giants' fans were furious after seeing their team produce lackluster displays recently. The spectators at Military Academy voiced their disappointment by wearing black suits and carrying banners calling for more courageous displays. They also attacked their own players during the game, even when Zamalek were leading. Mansour, though, does not blame them. "The fans are excused. They were frustrated by our disappointing results," Mansour told the post-match press conference. "Hopefully, the victory would boost their morale and motivate them support us in the upcoming period." Emam return Fans favorite Hazem Emam was introduced in the second-half, playing for the first time since the 1-0 defeat to Ismaili in the league opener He was subjected to angry taunts during the Ismaili encounter but finally shrugged off his problems with fans. "Emam is a Zamalek icon; we have to keep hold of him. It was a chance to field him when we ensured the win," Mansour said. "He wasn't at his best due to his absence for long periods but we had to help him regain self-confidence."
