Zamalek assistant coach Mohamed Helmi saluted his players' efforts following their 4-1 victory over Suez Cement which lifted them to the Egyptian Cup semi-final. "I'm absolutely delighted with the players' fighting spirit," Helmi, who was recently appointed after the sacking of Ayman Mansour, told the post-match press conference. "The players regained their determination. They were eager to send the fans home happy." Zamalek fell behind early in the game, thanks to Mohamed Al-Fayoumi's strike. The Cairo giants stormed back in the second period through goals from Osama Hassan, Mostafa Gaafar, Amr Zaki and Mohamed Ibrahim. "Zamalek men managed to overcome the difficult circumstances we had to endure," Helmi said. "Most of our defenders were out for suspensions and injuries, so we were forced to use some players out of their positions." Zamalek claimed the big victory despite having to play most of the second-half with ten men as Gamal Hamza was sent-off for a second bookable offense "Hamza did not dive to earn a yellow card, he was clearly pushed. His furious reaction came because he cares for this team," Helmi added.
