Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini bemoaned his side's failure to preserve their lead after the 1-1 draw with Juventus in the Serie A game at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. Mauro Camoranesi's strike cancelled out Julio Cruz's opener for the visitors, but the away draw is not enough for Mancini. "We didn't want to get a draw here, but unfortunately if you don't go 2-0 up then that is what can happen. The draw is not the right result, we deserved all three points," said the Inter manager. "We wasted a great deal and in football if you do that, you get punished. I am only sorry that we were unable to seal the win, as we were deserving of that victory. "This was a great opportunity to stretch out at the top, but we cannot have regrets considering our excellent performance." The unbeaten Inter are on top of the Serie A table with 25 points from 11 games, but they are just two points above the in-form Fiorentina.
Del Piero Fair result for Juve captain While Mancini insisted that his team deserved to win, Juve skipper Alessandro Del Piero believes the draw was a fair result. "We didn't deserve to lose, we got a draw by demonstrating the kind of willpower that we have shown throughout the season," Del Piero told Sky Sports Italia. "Inter showed their quality and they have lots of top quality players behind them, but they didn't take many risks and they mainly looked dangerous through set-pieces. "There isn't an enormous gap between us and them." Juve are four points behind table toppers Inter, who will host CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
