Mauro Camoranesi came off the bench to score and help Juventus salvage a 1-1 home draw with Inter Milan in the Serie A on Sunday. Argentinean striker Julio Cruz put the visitors ahead four minutes before the break but Italian international Camoranesi grabbed the equalizer 13 minutes from time. Despite the draw, Inter remained on top of the league table with 25 points, two ahead of in-form Fiorentina, who secured a 1-0 victory over Lazio on Saturday. Juventus lie third on 21 points, one behind second-placed Roma, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Empoli. Chances were few and far between in the first-half as both sides had a cautious approach to the game. Cruz stunned the home crowd in the 41st minute when he capitalized on a dreadful marking by Juve defenders to chest Cesar's brilliant long ball and fire home past Gianluigi Buffon. In the 59th minute, Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso found the back of the net on the rebound after Cruz's free-kick was denied by Buffon, but his goal was ruled out for offside. Television replays proved that the referee's decision was accurate. Ivan Cordoba almost scored an own goal when he mis-cleared Vincenzo Iaquinta's cross but Inter keeper Julio Cesar scrambled backward to tip the ball over the crossbar. Camoranesi, who was introduced by coach Claudio Ranieri instead of the ineffective Alessandro Del Piero, leveled the score in the 77th minute. Another substitute, Iaquinta, nodded the ball down to Camoranesi inside the box before the latter's shot deflected off Cordoba and went into the back of the net.
